About Kenzie
The Cowichan river has literally been Kenzie’s back yard since the early 1990′s when he purchased his first piece of riverfrontage. He has an intimate knowledge of the fishing habitat and is closely in tune with the ever-changing conditions of the river. Fishing and conservation has always been a huge part of Kenzie’s life. Since the age of 11, Kenzie has accumulated 49 years of fishing experience, of which the last 33 have been spent as a fishing guide. After 17 hugely successful years owning and running the Cowichan River Wilderness Lodge on the upper Cowichan River, Kenzie is concentrating on guiding now after selling the lodge in 2017. Still living in the same area, Kenzie is in the gateway to the many other fisheries that he guides. For the past number of years, he has also been field staff for the highly regarded companies of Sage, Islander Reels, RIO Fly Lines, Redington and Gibbs/Nortac. This allows his guests the opportunity to use these premium products when they fish with him.
Kenzie has been featured in various television shows which include ”Hooked on Fishing” with Paul Young in the UK and “Columbia Country” in the US. National television shows include “Fish N Canada” “Get Out” with Shelly and Courtenay, “Sportfishing on the Fly”, and “Sportfishing BC” to name a few.
